The Presentation for the Year 3 Student Laptop Information Night that was held on Tuesday 26th February 2019.
We received this emailed from The School of St. Jude updating us on Alex:
Dear All at St Joseph the Worker School,
We are just months away from Alex’s Form 6 graduation from The School of St Jude and the completion of his Secondary academic scholarship. The Form 6 Graduation will be happening on Saturday of 25th May 2019 at our secondary school Usa River campus just outside Arusha.
With less than 2% of students in Tanzania completing their secondary education, we invite you to join us in recognising this incredible achievement and what it symbolises for both Alex and his family. At present, our Form 6 students are getting ready for their coming final examinations; a challenge that Alex has been able to embrace because of your generosity and dedication towards his education.
Even when our Form 6 students have been very busy preparing for the National Examinations, we made sure to capture a few final shots of them in their St Jude’s uniform. Attached is a photo of Alex in the final days as a secondary student at St Jude’s.
We have been supporting Alex in his studies in Tanzania. Alex is currently in his the final year of secondary school, this is also known as advanced level studies or A-levels. at The School of St. Jude.
Here is his school photo from this year.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support for Alex, we have all worked together to support him in his studies and we look forward to hearing about his plans after secondary school.
On Tuesday 1st of May the St. Joseph the Worker community celebrated 40 years! In the morning we had a visit from a Wurrenjeri Elder Ian Hunter who shared some great stories about his childhood and history of the Wurrenjeri Tribe. Ian then opened the new areas by conducting a traditional smoking ceremony followed by a blessing from Fr. Manny. We had a special cake and pizza lunch as a school community. Here is to the next 40 years of St. Joseph the Worker!
The enviroweek.org website has our school included in their case studies. Click on the link to see some of the great work our students have already completed.
A big thanks to Paul for the great work he has done to tidy up and add some lovely plants to our school garden beds.
Winners Again – new lush, green turf coming soon.
Our Green Team have won another award which they collected at a special ceremony at the Royal Botanical Gardens this week. Their entry has won our school 300 square metres of fresh, green turf.
Congratulations to Mrs De Leo, Mrs Bof and the amazing members of the Green Team for all their hard work.
